It assists its clients with new product development, existing product enhancements, and OEM product customization services while focusing on hardware, low level software and web frontend and backend design. Internetworking Designs was founded in 1991 and is based in Provo, Utah. It has provided consulting services to numerous companies in the United States and Canada, including ACC (Ericsson), Praxon, Tasman Networks (Nortel), Xedia (Lucent Technologies), Micom Communications (Nortel), Hewlett Packard (Network Test Division), Digital Link, and WinNet MCS (ECI Telecom) over the last 18 years. Hardware products developed for these companies include modular WAN routers, Multi-port Gigabit Ethernet interface modules, channelized T3 interface modules, integral voice and data interfaces to SONET, T1/E1, and ISDN BRI networks, and integrated PRI/modem pool subsystems. Existing products have been enhanced and upgraded, such as a T3 DSU that was cost reduced and upgraded with a RISC processor. On the software side, drivers for DS3 and DS1 framers have been developed, including FDL support; signaling protocol stacks have been ported to new processors, and features such as SecureID access authorization software have been ported onto routers.
